Red Program

The Bay Area Stars Diving Team, Inc. has been part of the Clear Area since 1987. Its members have come from Southeast Houston, Galveston, League City, Pearland, Friendswood, Nassau Bay, Baytown and Greater Clear Lake communities.

Facilities: One 1 meter and one 3 meter maxiflex diving boards.  The pool depth is 13 feet.  We provide gymnastic mats, vault boards, mini trampolines and entry preparation slide.
Coach(es): Nika Cramner was a four year letterman in diving from Clear Lake. She begins her fourth year coaching diving and has a BS in Biology from the University of Houston.
Days & Times: Monday / Thursday: 4:45-5:45 p.m., 5:30-6:30 p.m. Group 1 is for new to dive and want swim time. Group 2 is for students with previous dive experience.
Objectives:

The red team is for those who students who wish to dive and does gymnastics each week. Gymnastics is offered at the Sonic Gym on Tuesdays. Divers are introduced to fundamental diving skills plus get increased physical condition through swimming. This includes forward and backward take off, entries and dives in all positions. An effort is made to inform all divers about participation in AAU meets plus prepare them for summer league swimming. We want to have fun, get in shape and be safe!
Sessions:
  1. February 27 (Thursday), March 1, 5, 8, 19, 22, 26, 29
  2. April 2, 5, 20, 12, 16, 23, 26
Requirements:
  • Must sign a medical and liability release form. AAU membership is available for $14.00
  • Display an excellent attitude
  • Perform basic swimming skills (i.e. can go down to the bottom of a 13 foot pool and come to the side.
  • Wear a speedo style swim suit
Cost:

$90 per month. Payment via PayPal. Price includes one shirt for the first session of registration. Your second child is $10 off. Athletes may select to dive once per week (Monday) if attending Omni gym. These people pay the full price the first month and then the second month is free.

Gym time is paid separately to Omni Athletics.
